"In 1975 I acquired a collection of antique, but damaged manuscripts after a mysterious fire beguiled the dim British authorities for four years. Somewhere along the frontier between England and Wales, in a crumbled vault beneath a burned mansion; dozens of leather bound journals, diaries, and books were rescued. Their contents were fantastical: histories, ages of vampiric accounts, coven wars, and abstract chronicles. The police, of course, uneducated in such matters of the occult or the unexplained, found the material rubbish against their modern case in need of evidence and forensics.
Fortunately, in my subsequent studies and adventures, I have found that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. You must forgive me the cliché, but my analysis and preservation of these personal antiquities has brought me to new heights of bizarrity, both on the page and in the flesh. I thought I was a wise, aware professor knowing beyond the day-to-day world before I came to read of this twisted Vampire Family. My pride was in err..."
That's how the fictional Professor James introduces us to FATE and FANGS: Tales from the Vampire Family, and it only gets more demented from there.
I was so pleased- okay ecstatic- to place this 7 book series with Muse It Up Publishing last year. Our first novella Love: Ann and the Viking came out this past August, followed by Punishment: Lilith's Trials in September and now Book 3 Struggle: Elizabeth in America is tossing werewolf shenanigans and Native American mysticism into the soiree! A sequel set to my 2008 novel The Vampire Family- in paperback now with Eternal Press- we're slaying out a book a month through Valentine's Day. Couldn't a vamp fan just die with glee?!
There's no blood necessary in the participation of any Vampire Family events, of course. Yet! Feel Love, experience Punishment, know Struggle, indulge the Debauchery, crave Lust, learn Humanity, face Resurrection, and choose: Fate or Fangs?
What excites me the most about this series is its intimacy and personal themes and vignette style. No big coven wars and blood battle mayhem here - well, there's some blood! But the big stuff is reserved for the universe's finale, Requiem for the Vampire Family. Or perhaps it will be The Vampire Family Forever. I can't decide! With Fate and Fangs, however, we can take time, pick and choose our time, place, or perversion - from colonial times to vampire speakeasies and contemporary London, something for everyone!
Pleasure ANN and her lover ERIC or torment the Welshire enemy LILITH? But what of ELIZABETH, the unloved wife and RAIN, the fearless Kiowa warrior caught amid debutant daughter VICTORIA? Ladies, moody and melodramatic rival brothers JAMES and GASTON are vying for your attention! Rise again with STEPHANIE or Live forever with Mestiphles....
Fate or Fangs? 'Tis a very tough question. Answer, with The Vampire Family......
